About The Position

The Volunteer Coordinator develops, organizes, and administers the facility's volunteer services program. Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. This position requires flexibility of working evenings, weekends or Holidays to coordinate volunteer activities and special events.

Requirements

  • Post high school coursework with an emphasis in recreation management, music, recreation therapy, occupational therapy, vocational rehabilitation or related field or experience in planning, coordinating, or directing activity or therapy services.
  • Knowledge of volunteer programs development, community engagement, and public relations.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software programs used for scheduling, communication, and record keeping.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Members, families, volunteers, staff, and community organizations.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, and orients volunteers for service within the facility.
  • Develops and maintains volunteer opportunities that support departments and enhance members' quality of life.
  • Schedules and coordinates volunteers to meet departmental needs.
  • Maintains records of volunteer hours, applications, training, and background requirements.
  • Provides guidance and supervision to volunteers while ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and distributes donations received through volunteer services.
  • Serves as a liaison between volunteers, staff, and community organizations to promote engagement and support for the facility.
  • Assists with planning and coordinating volunteer-supported programs, events, and services.
  • Conducts tours of the facility for prospective volunteers and community members.
  • Maintains necessary supplies and materials to support volunteer programming.
  • Prepares reports and documentation related to activity and volunteer services and performs other related duties as assigned.
