About The Position
The Volunteer Coordinator at Northwestern Medicine plays a crucial role in enhancing the healthcare experience by managing and coordinating volunteer efforts within the organization. This position reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adhering to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards, thereby contributing to a positive workplace culture that prioritizes patient care. In this role, the Volunteer Coordinator will screen volunteer applicants to assess their interests, skills, and abilities, ensuring a good match between volunteers and departmental needs. The Coordinator will collaborate with departmental managers to design job descriptions for volunteer assignments and lead orientation sessions to onboard new volunteers effectively. Additionally, the Coordinator will conduct exit interviews for volunteers leaving the program and compile data on volunteer demographics, work hours, and service contributions for program evaluation and recognition purposes. The position also involves assisting the manager in developing new volunteer programs in response to identified priorities and collaborating with leadership and staff within the Volunteer Department. The Volunteer Coordinator will support the daily operations of the volunteer office and participate in special projects as assigned, making this a dynamic and impactful role within the healthcare system.
