The position involves recruiting, supervising, and training Master Gardener volunteers, 4-H volunteers, and occasional/one-time volunteers. The role requires performing work of moderate difficulty in recruiting and placing volunteers and coordinating volunteer services and activities. Responsibilities include facilitating volunteer orientation and training, assessing department needs to plan for volunteer projects and assignments, and tracking and maintaining volunteer service hours. The position also involves identifying and implementing ways to recruit new volunteers through community outreach, public relations programs, volunteer agencies, and other service organizations. Additionally, the role includes planning, organizing, and implementing volunteer recognition events and activities, collaborating with volunteer coordinators in other localities and state programs leaders as required, maintaining records, preparing correspondence, reports, and other documents, and assisting with office coverage. This position will serve Chesterfield County.
