About The Position

The Blood Donor Ambassador plays a crucial role in enhancing the blood donation experience by providing excellent customer service and engaging with donors. This part-time position involves working at both mobile blood drives and fixed sites, assisting donors throughout the donation process, and promoting the importance of regular blood donations. The ambassador is responsible for ensuring donor comfort, managing donor flow, and expressing gratitude to each donor for their contribution.

Requirements

• Must be age 16 or older (or 13-15 with adult supervision).
• Ability to display professionalism and strong communication skills.
• Comfortable working with diverse communities and backgrounds.
• Ability to understand and explain technology needed for the position.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in customer service or volunteer roles.
• Familiarity with blood donation processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to enhance the blood donor experience.
• Engage with blood donors to promote blood donation and encourage long-term commitment.
• Assist donors with re-hydrating after donation and observe for post-donation reactions.
• Greet donors and explain the donation process as necessary.
• Manage donor flow and direct donors to Check-In.
• Ensure blood donors have relevant information and that questions are answered appropriately.
• Set up and maintain cleanliness in Reception and Hospitality Areas.
• Check that donors have their post-donation information before leaving the drive.
• Report possible adverse post-donation physical reactions to the collections staff.
• Encourage donors to download the Donor App and use RapidPass.
