About The Position

Thank you for your interest in volunteer coaching for the Warden School District. Volunteers are a vital part of building relationships between schools, parents, community members, and business partners, while adding value to the educational experience of the Warden School District students. Anyone wishing to volunteer at Warden School District must complete a volunteer application. Volunteer applicants must be at least 21 years old and are subject to a background check. A volunteer must be approved before volunteering. You must have an approved application and background check prior to volunteering.

Requirements

  • Prior coaching experience
  • CPR & First Aid Certification
  • General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
  • Knowledge of WIAA and EWAC league rules
  • Demonstrated ability to instruct, lead, and supervise student athletes
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with practices
  • Assisting with athletic events
  • Encourage sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation
  • Attend pre-season organizational meetings
  • Participate in professional development and become current to new coaching strategies
  • Assist in the organization and execution of home events
  • Be familiar with and adhere to school board policies, particularly those governing student nondiscrimination, anti-harassment, bullying, mandatory reporting, student record confidentiality, and other pertinent school board policies
  • Assist in the enforcement of the athletic code of conduct
