North Haven High School is seeking a Volunteer Assistant Coach for its Boys’ & Girls’ Outdoor Track & Field Programs. The responsibilities for this job include, but are not limited to: -Work and communicate with the North Haven Athletic Department, including the athletic director, administrative assistant, and head coaches of the boys’ and girls’ outdoor track & field teams in all necessary capacities -Supervise student-athletes at all times, including all practices and athletic events -Supervise student-athletes during transportation to and from away athletic events -Assist head coaches in scheduling, organizing, preparing and implementing practice sessions on a regular basis to develop the student-athletes’ greatest potential -Demonstrate positive characteristics and serve as a role model for student-athletes -Assume all duties assigned by head coaches -Assist head coaches in maintaining accurate inventory/record of equipment and uniforms and assist in submitting an itemized report at the end of each season to the athletic director -Assist head coaches in being responsible for constant care of equipment and facilities -Assist head coaches in communicating effectively with parents as it relates to student-athletes, which includes being a part of the preseason meetings The successful candidate must possess, or be working towards a Connecticut Coaches Certification (must be in place before the season begins); be CPR, AED and First Aid certified before the first practice; have previous coaching and/or playing experience with the sport. Compensation will follow North Haven’s coach’s stipend scale.
