About The Position
The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking highly engaged, intentional, and service-oriented individuals for part-time Volleyball Sports Staff positions. The Volleyball Sports Staff will help to create an inclusive and engaging experience while promoting programs that encourage health and wellness within our community. Location: Laguna Niguel Work Schedule: Part-Time (10-20 hours per week) One weeknight shift is required at minimum. Offered Monday - Friday 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm Sunday 11:30 am - 5:00 pm
Requirements
- Minimum Age: Must be 16 with a valid work permit.
- Experience & Skills: Must have experience in volleyball. Other sports experience is welcomed.
- Must be able to work with children ages 3 to 15 years old.
- Excellent communication, organization, and planning skills.
- Certifications: First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided and paid for by the YMCA).
Nice To Haves
- Experience in customer service preferred.
Responsibilities
- Be a Mentor: Guide youth in developing volleyball skills, good sportsmanship, and teamwork.
- Facilitate Participant Experience: Assist participants with registration and check-in, manage program paperwork, and deliver clear communication of program details. Officiate games and maintain accurate scoring when assigned.
- Inspire Positive Engagement: Champion fairness and inclusion by supervising activities, addressing concerns promptly, and creating a welcoming environment where every participant feels valued and supported.
- Build Positive Connections: Engage with participants and families to foster a friendly atmosphere, answer questions, and share information that enhances their overall experience.
