About The Position

Ensemble Music Schools is seeking a fun, experienced, and professional voice instructor to teach part-time at Red Pelican Music, located in Los Angeles, CA. This position involves instructing students either in person at their homes or from the instructor's own residence. The school serves a diverse range of students in West LA, including areas such as Santa Monica, Culver City, West Hollywood, and Beverly Hills. Instructors have the flexibility to set their availability within the school's open hours, but consistency is highly valued by both students and staff. Therefore, preference will be given to candidates who can offer greater availability. Successful candidates will possess a strong music background, which can be evidenced by a degree in voice performance, pedagogy, or equivalent performing experience. A demonstrated passion for teaching, experience working with young musicians, and a robust appreciation for punctuality are essential. Additionally, reliable transportation is a must, as instructors will be traveling to students' homes. Candidates who can teach multiple instruments, particularly piano, will be given preference. The pay for instructors is commensurate with experience, ranging from $30 to $45 per hour, along with standard IRS mileage reimbursement. After 90 days of employment, all employees are eligible for a 401(K) program with employer matching. Ensemble Music Schools is a partnership of community-driven music schools that maintain individual identities while sharing resources to ensure mutual success. Red Pelican Music offers personalized and professional in-home and in-studio lessons in Los Angeles, as well as live virtual lessons.
