Part-Time Voice Instructor - Ages 8 to Young Adult
About The Position
The new instructor will focus on voice instruction. If the instructor is interested in giving piano or other instrument lessons, a small student base can be provided in those areas. The instructor will work with children ages 8 to young adult. Nearly all lessons are in-person at the UpBeat studio on North Elston Avenue, with virtual lessons offered in special circumstances. Overall duties include: - teach 30-minute individual voice lessons - accompany students on piano (only basic skills required) - teach in group settings when needed - teach theory, technique, performance, and composition - utilize exercises and games to motivate students - conduct ongoing assessments of achievements through formal and informal testing - help to coordinate and support program activities - contribute towards organizing activities, curriculum design, and student / parent feedback This is an exciting opportunity for a talented vocalist to make a difference in the lives of youth through music. No teaching experience is required; full training will be provided.
Requirements
- some previous music education, training, lessons, etc.
- proficiency in voice performance
- ability to accompany on piano w/ basic skill level
- understanding of music theory
- a passion for working with youth

- previous experience in music education, summer camps, or similar settings a plus
