The primary function of this position is to support the mission of Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley by providing vocational training support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Services focus on helping individuals identify career interests, build job skills, and prepare for successful employment in the community. This includes individuals who are: Assisting with transitions from high school to adult services, or; Assisting with setting goals and building job skills in the areas of customer service, food services, janitorial, and other community connections through training experiences within the community to reach the goal of obtaining competitive employment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Facilitate and develop individualized job-related goals based on each person’s interests, strengths, and employment objectives according to the ISP (Individualized Service Plan) and other assessments. Provide employment training using curriculum and work-based learning activities. Deliver instruction in areas such as workplace readiness, teamwork, communication, self-advocacy, time management, conflict resolution, and problem-solving. Support individuals in developing resumes, practicing interview skills, learning skills to maintain employment, and entrepreneurship. Model and demonstrate how to complete tasks assigned according to set expectations in areas of food service, janitorial, and retail. Must be able to set goals with the input of individuals supported to ensure tasks assigned are completed. Must be able to provide task analysis if needed to divide skills into small, clear steps. Assist with appropriate relationship building professionally and personally. Participate as a member of everyone’s vocational support team, collaborating with schools, parents/guardians, and community partners. Must be able collaborate with individual support team in giving updates on how an individual is progressing in their training. Report to supervisor any changes, incidents, or concerns in a timely manner. Advocate for individuals’ vocational interests while ensuring their health, safety, and dignity while in the community. Provide and/or coordinate transportation to training sites as required, supporting individuals to build independence in travel whenever possible. May be required to provide and/or arrange transportation on a daily routine according to the individual’s needs and enhancing independence by training and/or utilizing own vehicle, local transit, and/or company vehicles. Maintain own credentials to drive as required by GESMV. Training: Maintain all applicable training requirements as determined by GESMV, Employment First and Ohio Administrative Code 5123:2-9-15, 5123-2-9-17 & 5123-2-9-18, 5123-2-9-19, 5123-2-9-14 Service Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate and timely documentation of service delivery, personnel related documentation and other mandatory documentation required by GESMV Ohio Administrative Code 5123:2- 9-15 and all relevant Adult Array services. Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards. Other duties as assigned.
