As a Vocational Specialist, you’ll play a key role in empowering adult clients to achieve their employment goals and take charge of their personal recovery journey. Your work will be centered around understanding how mental illness impacts their career goals, and collaborating closely to create a personalized Individual Recovery Plan (IRP) that lists their unique goals, strengths, and challenges, while also addressing potential barriers like emotional triggers, recovery risk factors, and relapse prevention strategies. You’ll support them through practical steps to overcome obstacles and build a meaningful path to employment. You’ll also provide transportation when needed and offer ongoing support through a one-week on-call rotation every six weeks, connecting with clients either virtually or in person. This role is about helping clients set goals, rebuild confidence, and move forward in both their personal and professional lives.
