About The Position

The Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor 3 is responsible for managing a caseload budget, determining eligibility for services, assessing vocational rehabilitation needs, and developing individualized plans for employment (IPE). This role involves providing counseling and advocacy services, coordinating service delivery, and ensuring appropriate job placements to assist individuals with disabilities in achieving self-sufficiency and employment outcomes. The position requires a high level of independence and proficiency in vocational rehabilitation practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling, health or social sciences, business administration, education, or a closely related field, and two years of professional experience in vocational rehabilitation counseling.
• OR Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of professional experience in vocational rehabilitation counseling.
• OR one year of experience as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor II in Nevada State service.
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the Bachelor's degree level.

• Experience in community outreach and public relations activities.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and agency regulations related to vocational rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload budget and determine eligibility or ineligibility for services.
• Assess vocational rehabilitation needs and develop Individual Plans for Employment (IPE).
• Coordinate the delivery of services and provide counseling and advocacy services.
• Ensure timely case movement and delivery of services while maintaining accurate case documentation.
• Consult and collaborate with management on significant issues and provide feedback to lower-level VR employees.
• Provide quality customer service and ensure appropriate case expenditures.
