About The Position

We are looking for a Part-Time Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team. This part-time position requires day or weekend clinical availability. The instructor will make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies and techniques in teaching. The role involves demonstrating or acquiring skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning. The instructor will assist with reviewing and revising the syllabus for specific courses within the program and instructional guidelines, submit required program reports and forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner, and keep current with new technologies and safety regulations. Additionally, the instructor will maintain student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms, assist with program data collection that meets set due dates and deadlines, and update and maintain student files related to clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational requirements. The instructor will teach courses at various times and locations in response to program needs, covering both lecture content and clinical rotations, which can occur during days, evenings, weekdays, and weekends. Participation in professional development is expected to maintain CE hours for renewed licensure, and the instructor will actively participate in committees as assigned, considering teaching responsibilities as a priority.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach.
  • 3 years bedside experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 6 years experience with an Associate's Degree.
  • Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
  • Current knowledge of nursing practice.
  • Ability to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Broad knowledge of nursing sciences.
  • Successful handling of day-to-day operations in the nursing lab.
  • Proficient, strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Current knowledge/experience in a clinical setting.
  • Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.
