About The Position

The Arc Erie County New York has been supporting children and adults with disabilities, and their families in achieving their desired quality of life by creating opportunities through comprehensive services for over 65 years. The Vocational and Employment Services Manager oversees and ensures the compliance of regulations in assigned employment services. This position involves developing, coordinating, and supervising the Employment Services, OPWDD, ACCES-VR, and the Commission for the Blind areas. The manager acts as a liaison with funding sources, supervises program staff, and directly provides employment services as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field AND 3 years of paid full-time direct services experience with the ID/DD field.
  • OR Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field AND 5 years of paid full-time direct services experience with the ID/DD field.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License with an approved driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure compliance of regulations in assigned employment services.
  • Act as a liaison with funding sources in scheduling, training, and completing required paperwork.
  • Supervise program staff and oversee scheduling, training, and documentation.
  • Develop individualized staff action plans for each person consistent with their needs and goals.
  • Monitor implementation of plans and conduct annual and semi-annual case reviews.
  • Complete monthly summaries of service.
  • Ensure compliance with Employment Services’ standards and guidelines.
  • Complete weekly billing and monitor service activities.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide retraining as necessary.
  • Participate in onboarding processes for new coaches.
  • Coordinate direct service activities and maintain service records.
  • Review assessments, assignments, and terminations of individuals.
  • Convene staff meetings for progress reviews and information dissemination.
  • Communicate effectively with funding sources, school district staff, employers, and individuals' support circles.
  • Transport individuals as needed for vocational/programmatic services.
