About The Position

NewGen Technologies is seeking a VMware Platform Management Engineer to join a partner's team in Washington D.C. Active Top Secret required Hybrid Remote Duration: 7 months +

Requirements

  • VMware Platform Management – Install, configure, and support vSphere (8.x), NSX T/NSX V, vSAN, and related services.
  • Hyper Converged Systems – Experience with DellEMC VxRail and PowerFlex clusters (preferred), including capacity planning, health monitoring, and firmware upgrades.
  • Storage Operations – Manage block and file storage solutions (Dell/EMC preferred), perform LUN provisioning, file system administration, and data protection tasks.
  • Network Integration – Configure and maintain top of rack (ToR) switches, VLANs, and NA IP routing required for virtual networking and storage traffic.
  • Automation & Scripting – Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks (preferred) for provisioning, patching, and compliance tasks.
  • Security & Hardening – Apply DISA STIGs and vendor specific hardening guides to both hardware and software components; conduct regular vulnerability scans and remediation.
  • Documentation & Collaboration – Produce clear run books, change control records, and knowledge base articles; partner with cross functional teams (application, security, networking) to resolve incidents and implement projects.
  • Active Top Secret required
