About The Position
This role is for a VMware NSX Senior/Architect responsible for designing, implementing, and managing advanced network virtualization solutions. Key aspects include architecting micro-segmentation and zero-trust security, deploying logical networking services such as switching, routing (Tier-0/Tier-1), Distributed Firewall (DFW), Network Address Translation (NAT), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and load balancing. The position involves leading NSX migrations from NSX-V to NSX-T, and integrating NSX with other platforms like vSphere, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure). The role also requires troubleshooting complex network and security issues, performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and automating deployments using scripting tools like Python, PowerCLI, Terraform, or Ansible. Ensuring performance, scalability, and high availability of solutions is crucial. Collaboration with network, cloud, and security teams is expected. For the Architect level, responsibilities extend to mentoring junior engineers and supporting solution design and pre-sales activities.
Requirements
- 8–15+ years of IT experience with strong NSX-T expertise
- Hands-on experience with NSX (DFW, routing, VPN, LB, micro-segmentation)
- Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, VXLAN/Geneve)
- Experience with VMware stack (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
- Scripting/automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible)
- Experience with data center networking (Leaf-Spine architecture)
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS/Azure)
- VMware certifications (VCP-NV / VCAP / VCDX)
Responsibilities
