About The Position

Company is seeking a highly experienced VMware Architect to support a long-term engagement with GE Vernova. This role will act as the lead architectural advisor for the transition from VxRail to Private Cloud for VMware, partnering closely with delivery teams, VMware TAMs, and GE technical stakeholders. The architect will focus on consultative engagement, deployment planning, datacenter architecture, and migration strategy—guiding standards, alignment, and execution across multiple GE business units and geographies. The role requires strong onsite presence initially to establish relationships, understand the environment, and drive architectural consistency.

Requirements

Deep experience designing and planning based infrastructure (PowerEdge servers, PowerStore storage, Private Cloud)
Strong consultative presence: able to act as a trusted advisor to customer technical and business stakeholders

Nice To Haves

Hands-on deployment and operations experience with PowerEdge, PowerStore, Private Cloud

Prior experience working alongside , Tech Mahindra, Genpact/CompuCom, or similar system integrators

Responsibilities

Lead architect for VMware-based private cloud environments, including VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, and VxRail
Ownership of deployment planning, capacity modeling, consolidation/refresh strategies, and risk identification
Experience planning and governing VM migrations, including wave planning, validation, rollback, and success criteria
Ability to work cross-functionally across compute, storage, network, virtualization, applications, and facilities teams
Comfortable producing executive-facing documentation, diagrams, dashboards, and progress reporting
