Visual Storyteller & Community Marketing Intern

Stride, Inc.
$22 - $22Remote

About The Position

Tallo is a career discovery and talent connection platform that helps nearly 2 million users—mostly students and early-career talent—explore what they're capable of. We connect them with jobs, apprenticeships, scholarships, and learning opportunities. We believe skills and potential matter more than pedigree. Someone who learned through an apprenticeship or taught themselves should have the same shot as someone with a four-year degree. That's the world we're building toward. SUMMARY: As the Visual Storyteller & Community Marketing Intern, you'll sit at the intersection of design and community — creating visual assets, capturing student stories, and showing up as a genuine presence in Tallo's community spaces so our marketing team can focus on building the programs that make those moments possible.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma (or its equivalency i.e GED)
  • Strong visual design skills — you have a genuine eye for layout, typography, color, and brand consistency
  • Experience with Canva (required); familiarity with Figma or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Ability to shoot and edit short-form video content (CapCut, iMovie, etc.)
  • Comfortable appearing on camera when needed — this role may involve hosting community moments, demos, or short clips
  • Experience engaging in online communities — whether running a Discord, managing a club's social presence, or just being deeply online in the right ways
  • Good at communicating (writing and talking)
  • Can create a Tallo account and use it
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week
  • Ability to clear a required background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Visually fluent — You think in images first. Your design work has personality, not just polish.
  • Genuinely social — You enjoy engaging with people online. You don't find community interaction draining — you find it energizing.
  • Storyteller instinct — You can look at a student's career challenge submission and immediately see the visual narrative worth telling.
  • Curious about AI — You've experimented with AI tools in your creative process and are excited to keep pushing.
  • Self-motivated — You take a brief and run with it. You come back with something better than expected.
  • Care about the mission — You're genuinely moved by stories of young people figuring out their futures and want to help tell them well.
  • Team player – You show up for weekly meetings and brainstorms. You stick to your commitments or actively communicate when you need help.

Responsibilities

  • Be a presence in the community — Engage authentically in Tallo's Interest Groups, Challenge Champions, and community spaces. Respond to students, celebrate wins, spark conversations, and surface moments worth amplifying. This is real engagement, not scripted moderation.
  • Turn community moments into visual stories – Spot compelling student stories and career milestones, then design them into shareable assets: winner spotlights, quote graphics, campaign visuals, and social-ready content.
  • Design brand and campaign assets – Create visuals in Canva (and other tools) for community challenges, campaigns, and career-education content. Maintain brand consistency across formats and channels.
  • Support video storytelling – Create and edit short-form video content that brings student stories to life. You should be comfortable on camera when the moment calls for it — whether that's demonstrating a feature, hosting a community segment, or capturing a behind-the-scenes clip.
  • Contribute to the content waterfall – Help connect community challenge cycles to polished campaign assets — from student submissions to winner content to on-demand library visuals on Tallo.com.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally – Partner with teammates across Marketing, Product, and Community — as well as our content, video, and social interns — to keep creative work cohesive and campaigns moving.
