This Visual Communications Associate Manager role provides first-line leadership for the Live Action team, ensuring accountability and the efforts of the team align to business priorities. They will manage more than one Visual Communications function, such as photo, video, and/or webcasting. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Additionally, will be responsible for Live Action production disciplines, high-end cinematic storytelling, and how compelling visuals are developed in a creative team workflow. The successful candidate will be able to anticipate bottlenecks, make tradeoffs, and balance the needs of various stakeholders. This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work: Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 5+ years of visual communications experience.
  • Thorough understanding of production management and operational procedures including production logistics, formats, and delivery specs.
  • Proven ability to manage day-to-day operations ensuring that projects are on track.
  • Advanced technical skills in industry-standard tools such as cinematography/videography, photography, webcasting, and editing (specifically Resolve, Premiere, After Effects)
  • Ability to lead Denver, CO and Sunnyvale, CA based teams to execute the tactics of the strategy set by senior leadership
  • A track record of engagement, creative thinking and problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

  • A post-secondary degree in media-related filed such as communication.
  • 9+ years of visual communications experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across the Communications function to ensure full understanding of strategic priorities
  • Demonstrated experience with budget planning and accountability
  • Experience leading or coaching talent planning and professional/technical development
  • Experience working with a digital asset management system
  • Experience working within or around advanced visual media production
  • Experience developing advanced workflows that include AI
  • Knowledge of the defense/aerospace business sector
  • Familiarity with Workamajig, Airtable or similar project management tools
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with multiple deadlines
  • Proven success implementing process efficiency, speed, and value creation
  • Previous experience working with advertising agencies, production companies, studios, and/or networks
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills
