About The Position

This position will play an important role in the artistic, social, and emotional development of students across the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. This multifaceted role includes delivering high-quality studio and digital arts instruction, supporting school-wide culture and community initiatives, and providing administrative coordination for the Visual & Performing Arts Department. This position requires exceptional flexibility, professionalism, and full participation in the life of the school.

Requirements

  • Prior experience teaching, advising, or mentoring students preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with school-supported technology such as Google Workspace and learning management systems.
  • Deep understanding of adolescent development, pedagogical best practices, and visual arts content.
  • Must pass all required state and federal background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Teach two Middle School classes and one Upper School class all year
  • Manage all related planning, grading, and curricular responsibilities for the courses above.
  • Be available during Support and Collaboration blocks for student assistance and colleague collaboration.
  • Complete all grades and comments as determined by the MS and US Principals.
  • Support Culture & Community initiatives across the LS, MS, and US.
  • Specifically support the Culture & Community Leaders (LS/MS) and Director (US) to execute school activities and events.
  • Participate fully in school life, which may include Town Hall, GLAM sessions, and Interim Week programming.
  • Assist the Director of Visual & Performing Arts with administrative duties.
  • Specifically manage calendaring and the execution of Visual & Performing Arts events and programming.
  • Read and respond to all faculty newsletters, departmental communications, and school emails.
  • Attend all required faculty, department, and grade-level team meetings.
  • Be present on campus during standard school days (7:50 am – 3:50 pm) and available for parent or administrative meetings as needed.
