About The Position

As a Visual and Performing Arts Teacher at Veritas Preparatory Charter School, you will have the unique opportunity to engage high school students in both visual and performing arts. • Massachusetts DESE Elementary Licensure Preferred, or eligibility to achieve Highly Qualified status within one year of employment, demonstrated by: a passing score on the Communications and Literacy Skills (Reading and Writing) MTEL, and a passing score on the Theatre or Visual Arts MTEL (or equivalent), or hold a MA teaching license in Theatre of Visual Arts
• Authorized to work in the United States, with valid work authorization in place by the first day of employment.

• One to three years of teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach different electives, covering disciplines such as theater, music, dance, and visual arts
• Design and implement an engaging arts curriculum that uses various visual and performing art techniques.
• Organize school-wide student performances and displays of student work to build community across students, staff, and families.
• Participate in school-wide initiatives that promote student engagement and success
• Serve as an advisor for one crew and facilitate daily crew blocks.
• Utilize your expertise in the arts to deliver effective lessons that meet diverse learning needs
• Incorporate elements of college and career readiness into the art curriculum, fostering skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving
• Communicate proactively with students and families to build and maintain strong relationships
• Maintain an inclusive environment that respects and promotes diversity in the arts
• Engage in continuous professional development and collaboration with fellow educators
• Assess student performance regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their growth
• Encourage collaboration and promote teamwork in group projects and performances
