About The Position
Catalina Island Company welcomes all guests and visitors to our very special island. Beyond being warm and courteous, our exceptional team members are knowledgeable and helpful - anticipating and personalizing their service on an individualized basis. We seek individuals like YOU to create the finest personal service and extraordinary experiences for our guests. The Visitor Services Agent provides exceptional customer service to guests visiting, campers, hiking trails, boat passengers, lost and found items, and various general inquiries. This role educates visitors about Catalina Island and is a point of contact for inquiries and questions.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Knowledge of local hiking trails, camping procedures, and safety practices
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of visitors
- Ability to work in a fast-paced customer service environment
- Handle guest issues calmly and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills and phone etiquette
- Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in customer service or hospitality is highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist guests with questions, both in person and phone
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints and special requests professionally and efficiently
- Maintain and distribute informational material such as maps, brochures, and trail guides
- Provide environmental education for visitors
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a welcoming environment
- Assist guest with lost and found items
- Follow check in procedures for boat passengers and campers
- Activity ticket reservation booking
- Partner collaboratively with other departments
- Other duties as assigned
