About The Position

The Visitor Control Receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for all individuals entering the U.S. Attorney’s Office. This role ensures the secure and orderly processing of visitors by verifying identification, monitoring visitor traffic, and maintaining accurate visitor logs. The position requires adherence to federal security policies, coordination with law enforcement when necessary, and the ability to provide basic information and referrals to visitors with professionalism and discretion.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of law enforcement experience or comparable security-related background.
  • Must meet any additional state or federal requirements applicable to secure facility access and visitor control duties.
  • Ability to detect and appropriately respond to attempted trespass or unauthorized access.
  • Strong oral communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with visitors and staff.
  • Knowledge of basic security practices, protocols, and emergency response procedures.
  • Familiarity with standard office procedures su fficient to provide factual information and direct inquiries.
  • Strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and ability to remain composed under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Process all visitors entering the U.S. Attorney’s Office and ensure compliance with identification and security requirements.
  • Regulate and monitor visitor traffic throughout the facility.
  • Maintain a daily visitor log with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Provide general information to visitors or direct them to the appropriate personnel or agency.
  • Adhere to established security policies and procedures governing access to office spaces.
  • Detect and report attempts at unauthorized access; promptly notify appropriate authorities .
  • Coordinate with federal or local law enforcement regarding the escort of apprehended individuals.
  • Respond effectively to a variety of situations requiring situational awareness and sound judgment.
  • Assist with routine administrative tasks such as answering calls and providing factual information based on office procedures.
