About The Position

The Visitor Center Director is responsible for creating and enhancing exceptional visitor experiences at the Lux Row Distillers and Limestone Branch Distillery Visitor Centers in Kentucky. This role involves strategic planning, staff management, and collaboration with the community to promote MGP/Luxco brands and drive revenue generation.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in a management role, preferably in a visitor center or hospitality environment.
  • Strong understanding of the bourbon industry and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
  • Experience in budget management and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and community partners.
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.

  • Familiarity with the local tourism landscape and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Visitor Center Managers to enhance operations and optimize the visitor experience.
  • Oversee and provide strategic direction for all Visitor Center experiences at two Kentucky distilleries and coordinate VIP visits at Ross & Squibb Distillery.
  • Oversee and provide strategic direction for all distillery events and brand activation events.
  • Lead and coordinate regular training, incentives, and development plans for Visitor Center employees.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and key competitors.
  • Research, train, and remain updated on the portfolio of brands and the bourbon category.
  • Analyze category data to understand trends, brand health, and implications.
  • Accountable for management of assigned Marketing A&P segment budget details and administration.
  • Develop an understanding of consumer target demographics, psychographics, and trends for brands.
  • Create a targeting strategy for tours, retail merchandise, and brands.
  • Identify, research, and analyze opportunities for consumer targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, tourism organizations, and community partners to promote collaboration and enhance visitor offerings.
  • Manage all public appearance requests that come through the Visitor Center including VIP tastings, events, and festivals.
