About The Position

The main task during the internship is to improve and verify the MOOSE-based reactor physics code, Griffin, which is being developed under the DOE-NE NEAMS program. The work will focus on further improving and verifying the advanced low-order transport method implemented in Griffin. Additionally, the internship will include developing benchmark problems for advanced nuclear reactors to verify Griffin with the advanced low-order method and online cross-section generation. Analysis results and development outcomes will be documented in a technical report.

Requirements

  • The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution
  • Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or
  • Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution
