About The Position

The Department of Surgery, Division of Minimally Invasive Bariatric and General Surgery, at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, seeks a Visiting Scholar to work in the laboratory of Dr. Anita P. Courcoulas. This is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working research scholar who is a highly self-motivated individual. Job Summary: The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting high-quality clinical research, investigating, and working to improve surgical outcomes. The applicant will monitor regulatory procedures for ongoing work, coordinate with other members of the team, and lead their own lines of investigation. The Visiting Scholar will be responsible for designing and carrying out data cleaning, statistical analysis plans, record keeping, writing manuscripts, and preparing them for publication and presentation of findings at scientific meetings under the supervision of Dr. Yip.

Requirements

  • MD
  • Field of Study: Medicine or related field
  • Team-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Interest in working with individuals from many different backgrounds, including basic scientists and clinicians
  • Effective writing and interpersonal skills
