About The Position

The Visiting Scholar is expected to contribute to or challenge thinking about architecture through their teaching, research, and creative activity. The Visiting Scholar is required to present the accomplishments in the form of a public lecture at the School and submit the work produced at the School to an external body for peer review and dissemination to national or international audiences. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a 6 credit graduate design studio
  • Teach a first-year 1 credit honors seminar
  • Conduct design related original research
  • Participate in faculty meetings
  • Serve on studio reviews
  • Present school-wide lecture
  • Be an engaged and active participant with students, faculty and staff on a day-to-day basis
