About The Position

The University of Pittsburgh Department of Medicine, Division of Malignant Hematology/Medical Oncology, is seeking qualified and trained MD candidates to fill a part-time, paid Visiting Research Scholar position. The overall goal is to provide the Scholar with an opportunity to acquire new skills through research activities that will contribute to the academic environment and ultimately enhance the Scholar's ability to develop a career in academic medicine. Screening of patients for liquid biopsy protocols, consenting and inclusion in biomarker protocols, preparation of blood collection, shipment, documentation and data extraction from Redcap. Support of data analyses and publication process.

Requirements

  • The visiting scholar title must be a trained MD
  • Ability and desire to acquire new research skills through focused research activities that complement the Scholar's clinical interests.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to conduct independent research, and a collaborative aptitude for team projects.
  • Capability to expand skills toward independently conducting, disseminating, and leading research. These skills will be accomplished through self-directed, active learning.
