The William S. Dietrich II Economic Theory Center of the Department of Economics at Princeton University is seeking a Visiting Research Scholar in Microeconomic Theory, with the position expected to commence in September 2025. This role is designed for individuals who have demonstrated excellence in research and possess a strong interest or experience in microeconomic theory. The Visiting Research Scholar will spend an academic year in residence at Princeton, where they will be provided with office space and the opportunity to conduct independent research on any topic related to microeconomic theory. In addition to pursuing their research, Visiting Research Scholars may have the chance to engage in the University's teaching program, contingent upon mutual agreement, sufficient course enrollments, and approval from the Dean of the Faculty. It is important to note that candidates must be employed at an institution other than Princeton during their tenure as a Visiting Research Scholar. Compensation for this position is typically based on the salary structure of the Visiting Research Scholar's home institution and may vary depending on the level of support received from that institution during the visit. Applicants are required to hold a doctorate or an equivalent degree. The program is inclusive and open to all candidates, regardless of citizenship; however, it does not facilitate work towards the completion of a degree. Interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae, a concise research statement (not exceeding 750 words), and contact information for two references. The review of applications will begin on December 1, 2024, and will continue until the position is filled. Applications must be submitted online through the provided link. The work location for this position is in-person on the Princeton University campus.
