About The Position
This is a full-time, nine-month or semester faculty appointment depending on the circumstances. Responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the chair. The Department of English and Creative Writing at Stephen F. Austin State University, a member of The University of Texas System, is accepting applications for three visiting lecturers in first-year writing for the 2025-2026 academic year. The successful candidates will have experience in teaching, assessing, and supporting first-year writing students. The primary responsibilities of this position are teaching first-year writing courses and engaging in team-based departmental professional development activities. This position is not tenure-track; the contract duration is from Sept 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026. The workload entails a 4-4 teaching load plus service responsibilities related to classroom support, data analysis, and professional development.
