About The Position

The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Wellesley College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor position for the 2026–2027 academic year. The successful candidate will teach five Korean language courses during the academic year and hold regular office hours in person and promptly respond to student inquiries throughout the semester. Candidates must demonstrate native or near-native fluency in Korean and English and have experience teaching Korean as a second language at all levels, preferably at the university level in U.S. institutions. We seek a skilled language instructor committed to a proficiency-based, communicative approach. This is a temporary, non-renewable appointment.

Requirements

  • MA, preferably in Korean language pedagogy or a related field
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Korean and English
  • Experience teaching Korean as a second language at the university level, particularly in the U.S., is preferred
