About The Position

Pfeiffer University, a small private liberal arts institution committed to purpose-driven education and career readiness, invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing. This position is ideal for a dynamic educator who is passionate about mentoring students, integrating liberal arts values into professional preparation, and contributing to a transformative undergraduate experience. 5 month position - January 2025 through May 2026

Requirements

• Master's degree, Ph.D., Ed.D., DNP preferred, in Nursing or closely related field (ABD considered for Assistant Professor rank).
• An unencumbered, active Registered Nurse license
• Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate level.
• Commitment to student success and experiential learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate nursing courses based on expertise. (12-13 semester hours)
• Mentor nursing majors, supporting academic progress, career readiness, and graduate school preparation.
• Supervise clinical experiences in local healthcare settings
• Participate actively in departmental and university-wide faculty committees.
• Engage in scholarly activity and professional development.
• Contribute to curriculum development and assessment efforts.
• Comply with all policies in the Employee Handbook and the Faculty Handbook.
• Faculty will teach at the Misenheimer campus and work directly with the faculty of the Nursing Department.
