Position Information This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. This is a nine-month, one academic year appointment. The selected candidate will teach four courses per semester in one or more of the department's degree programs, which may include Construction Management, Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology, Engineering Design Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology. Course delivery may involve both traditional (lab-based) and online formats. This is a Temporary position for FALL 2025 and Spring 2026.

Requirements

  • An earned Doctoral or Master's degree in a field related to Engineering Technology-such as Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Construction, or Industrial Engineering/Technology-or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution. Candidates who are ABD will also be considered.
  • The successful applicant will support the teaching mission of the department by contributing to course instruction, lab activities, and curriculum development.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to undergraduate education are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
  • Relevant industry or teaching experience is preferred.
  • The candidate should have practical knowledge in their discipline and be able to teach hands-on, lab-based courses.
  • Familiarity with instructional technologies, curriculum development, and laboratory equipment relevant to their area (e.g. Construction Management, Electronics, Design, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Architecture, Manufacturing and Mechatronics) is desirable.
