About The Position

Fairfield University, Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies, invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor of Nursing faculty position beginning in September 2026, pending final budgetary approval. The Egan School seeks to inspire students to become leaders across social and healthcare environments who improve health outcomes for all, inclusive of underserved or vulnerable populations. The teaching load is 12 credits each semester (typically 4 classes) for non-tenure track faculty. In addition to teaching, faculty are also expected to contribute to the profession and advance the scholarship and service missions of the program, the school, and the university. Faculty members are expected to participate in on-campus events, meetings, committees, and other student- and service-related activities.

Requirements

  • Hold a master’s degree in nursing or doctoral degree in nursing or related field from an accredited education program.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to promoting justice, equity, inclusion, and belonging that is consistent with the Jesuit mission at Fairfield University.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in population health, critical care, pediatrics, med-surg, leadership, and evidence-based practice.
  • Preference for applicants with a doctoral degree in nursing.

Responsibilities
