The School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor to support the ACEND-accredited Dietetics GP MPH program. A Visiting Assistant Professor will be expected to teach 12 credit hours per semester, for a total of 24 credit hours per year. This load will typically include at least two upper division courses in areas that complement existing faculty strengths and fulfill student demand. The position will require counseling clients in the Nutrition Center. Additionally, this position may assume responsibilities associated with coordinating and/or instructing students during supervised practice rotations and interprofessional simulation. On a temporary basis the Visiting Teaching Faculty is a full-time faculty member with credentials in an academic discipline. The primary purpose of such a position is to teach in a classroom, laboratory or other instructional setting in support of the University's degree, certificate, and/or licensure programs. The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master's Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics and holding the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential. Candidates without an earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Public Health, Educational Leadership, or related discipline will be considered, but must demonstrate continued professional training and greater than 5 years experience that qualifies them to teach within a specified needed area(s) of Medical Nutrition Therapy, Public Health, Nutrition Assessment or Nutrition in Sports. We seek colleagues with strong interest in and commitment to graduate teaching, mentoring, and research. The School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences is one of seven academic units in The College of Health and Human Sciences. The school offers an graduate degree in dietetics along with an MPH and an undergraduate program in Food and Nutrition Sciences, and a minor in Nutrition. Departmental strengths are hands-on experiential and service learning, interprofessional simulation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The school houses the UA Nutrition Center which connects faculty and students to community-based opportunities for collaboration.
