Visiting Assistant Professor, Chemistry
About The Position
The Department of Chemistry at Skidmore College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor position in Organic Chemistry for the academic year beginning September 2026. This is a two-year appointment with responsibilities in teaching organic chemistry and introductory chemistry. All bargaining unit members shall be covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Skidmore College and Services Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 200 United. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the Form I-9 and verification of identity and work authorization as required by federal law.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or a related field
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level
Nice To Haves
- Prior teaching experience is desirable
Responsibilities
- Teach 5 courses or 18 contact hours per academic year in the organic or introductory chemistry sequence
- Contribute to departmental initiatives, etc.
