About The Position

The Department of Integrative Biology (IB) at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus invites applications for a 9 month, full-time, non-tenure earning, Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction. This appointment is a 100% teaching assignment to begin fall semester 2026. We are seeking a broadly-trained biologist who is focused on student success and evidence-based best practices in STEM pedagogy. The successful candidate will be asked to teach 4 courses per semester. The supervision of undergraduate research is also a possibility. Summer appointments are available but not required. Requirements

Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline from an accredited institution required.
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction.

Nice To Haves

Applicants with experience teaching introductory biology courses and using evidence-based teaching practices and instructional technology will be preferred.
Applicants with expertise and interest to develop and deliver upper-level undergraduate classes that fit within existing Integrative Biology and Biomedical Science majors is considered an asset.
Experience teaching online is desirable.
A particularly strong applicant will be actively engaged in improving equity and inclusion in STEM.
