About The Position

POSITION PURPOSE: To monitor and supervise visits and exchanges in a safe and secure setting.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or recognized equivalent.
  • Must submit to and pass criminal background checks as prescribed by Courts.
  • All applicants for this position are subject to testing for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
  • Employees in this position are subject to random and reasonable suspicion testing for illegal drug use.
  • Must submit to and pass Missouri/Kansas child abuse & neglect registry check.
  • Some knowledge of the dynamics of separation, divorce, domestic violence, and child development beneficial.
  • Patience and ability to relate positively to youth and families from a variety of cultural economic and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in accordance with court and program policies & Procedures.
  • Ability to establish a neutral role in dealing with children and families.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to prepare clear, complete, and logical reports.
  • Ability to relate in a positive fashion to individuals from a variety of cultural, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer 60 hours college coursework in a directly related field that may include psychology, social work, counseling, or related fields.
  • Some work experience in a care-giving role in relation to children is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and supervise visitation or exchanges.
  • Provide assistance and information
  • Escort children
  • Alert law enforcement of potential safety/security issues.
  • Provide on site program supervision and coordination for court ordered parent/child visitation and exchanges.
  • Provide emotional and physical safety to children and other family members.
  • Assist in the preparation and closing of the visit.
  • Escort children to and from the visit or exchange, and other areas as necessary.
  • Provide information between parents relevant to the child’s visit or exchange.
  • Assist in managing the child’s behavior as necessary.
  • Intervene and terminate visitation due to parental or child’s non-compliance with safety, and/or program rules.
  • Observe and monitor visits and exchanges.
  • Meet with FCRS representatives to report and discuss program and family issues.
  • Attend meetings and training requested by FCRS.
  • Prepare log information and document attendance.
  • Review, prepare, and maintain written reports, forms, and program materials requested by FCRS representatives.
  • Report suspected child abuse/neglect to appropriate authorities.
  • Perform related work as required.
