Shift Monday - Friday, Days Scheduled Weekly Hours 36 POSITION PURPOSE: Provides basic care to patients under the direct supervision of the office physician. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensures optimal patient care by adhering to Medical Center policies and procedures. Maintains patient records and documents to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical and nursing care, to include computer systems as necessary. Demonstrates ability to intake histories/chief complaint and prepare patient for examination. Assists Ophthalmology Technicians in preparing patients for procedures. Prepares equipment and aids providers during treatment, examination and testing of patients. Understands and demonstrates proper sterile/aseptic technique when assisting in applicable departments. Supports an environment conducive to professional practice. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS: H.S. Diploma required. Must have JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification within 18 months of hire date. Requirements

H.S. Diploma required.
Must have JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification within 18 months of hire date.
