About The Position

The Utility Helper position at Pacific Southwest Container, LLC involves assisting machine operators and crew members in various operational tasks, including machine setup, running, and maintenance. The role requires active participation in clean-up and preventative maintenance, ensuring efficient production processes and adherence to performance standards.

Requirements

• Ability to read a tape measure and understand factory cards and CADs.
• Basic math skills, including multiplication and division.
• Basic computer entry skills.
• Ability to anticipate production needs to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Proficiency in flexography, die cutting, and corrugator operations as required.
• Ability to pass forklift and clamp licensing process if required.
• Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.

Responsibilities

• Assist machine operators during setup and operation of machinery.
• Participate in clean-up and preventative maintenance activities.
• Monitor ink levels and handle pallets during operations.
• Stack waste sheets and report sheet waste as necessary.
• Prepare incoming roll stock and perform quality testing.
• Clear jams and stack corrugated sheets as directed.
• Drive clamp truck to deliver rolls and assist in mixing and monitoring starch.
• Feed or tail off as directed by the operator during die cutting operations.
• Perform cleaning, lubricating, and inspection functions during preventative maintenance.
