About The Position

We are looking for a highly experienced Virtualization & Systems Administrator to join our infrastructure team supporting mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will manage VM clusters, Windows-based systems, storage infrastructure, and hardware lifecycle workflows. This individual must be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining high system reliability while collaborating across teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of system administration experience.
  • 5+ years working with VMware vSphere, ESXi.
  • 5+ years managing Windows Server infrastructure and Active Directory.
  • 5+ years handling NAS/SAN solutions (Dell/NetApp/Pure Storage).
  • Strong experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Perl, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of file synchronization and backups using rsync, including incremental and scheduled strategies.
  • Familiarity with RAID configuration, disk health checks, and firmware/BIOS upgrades.
  • Understanding of core networking concepts: VLANs, subnets, firewalls, DNS, etc.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Ganglia, MegaCli, etc.).
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.

  • Monitor system health and respond to alerts proactively.
  • Apply OS and security patches regularly to maintain compliance.
  • Troubleshoot server performance and user access issues.
  • Maintain inventory and documentation of systems and changes.
  • Coordinate capacity planning and scaling based on usage trends.
  • Manage account permissions and roles in both Windows and storage systems.
  • Perform manual and scripted backups and test restoration procedures.
  • Track lifecycle of servers and participate in hardware refresh cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high availability and reliability of virtualization infrastructure (VMware vSphere/ESXi).
  • Configure, maintain, and secure Windows-based servers and environments.
  • Define and document workflows for VM provisioning, maintenance, recovery, and decommissioning.
  • Manage shared network storage (NAS/SAN), including tuning and data redundancy.
  • Implement and monitor data backup strategies using tools like rsync, cron, or other scripting methods.
  • Perform basic hardware management including disk replacements, server rack operations, cabling and physical inspections.
  • Coordinate maintenance and warranty tasks with hardware vendors and internal customers.
  • Monitor systems and performance using tools like Splunk, Prometheus, MegaCli, etc.
  • Participate in planning and execution of controlled shutdowns/outages.
  • Provide tier-2 support escalation and training to internal support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with internal security and audit policies.
