About The Position

Join Our Team as a Virtualization Administrator - Shape the Future of Technology in Education! Are you an innovative, adaptable IT professional passionate about designing and managing virtual environments? We are seeking a Virtualization Administrator to join our dynamic team and support the evolving technological landscape of Mohave College. In this critical role, you will leverage your expertise in Virtualization Architecture, Cloud Platforms (Azure, VMware, Dell Compute Services), and Virtualization (VMware) to drive infrastructure modernization, ensure operational resilience, and support mission-critical systems. Your knowledge in Disaster Recovery Planning, Compliance & Governance, and Management of Storage Arrays will be vital to enhancing our infrastructure and safeguarding institutional data.

Requirements

  • Certification(s) related to virtualization.
  • Three years of related work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Azure, VMware, Nutanix, or other virtual platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the administrative and classroom environment using virtual and physical servers.
  • Provision, maintain, and decommission new and/or existing virtual infrastructure.
  • Plan and implement expansions, upgrades, and optimizations to be applied to new and/or existing virtual infrastructure.
  • Plan, implement, maintain, upgrade, and manage mass storage devices, including SAN and NAS technologies.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and document complex system issues.
  • Coordinate with others on high-level problems and develop projects to resolve issues.
  • Enable the implementation of technological innovations.
  • Provide input on new technologies, hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Serve as a security advisor within a shared governance framework.
  • Attend and participate in college committees to represent Information Technology.
  • Serve as back-up support for the System Engineer and Network Engineer.
  • Support staff related to desktop support, network technology, and peripheral devices.
  • Travel to alternate college sites to provide project support.
  • Use Helpdesk ticketing processes to track progress and document solutions.
  • Adhere to college, federal, and state administrative procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned.
