About The Position

The Virtual RN at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center is responsible for providing remote nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy, focusing on treatment of side effects and symptom management. This role involves utilizing telehealth platforms to conduct assessments, monitor patient health, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing or an Associate's degree in Nursing with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of FL or a valid Multi-State privilege to practice in FL.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience.
• Technological experience with EHR, Zoom, and various virtual platforms.

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree in Nursing
• 5+ years of inpatient hospital experience
• Oncology Nursing experience (Chemotherapy)
• Experience with Cerner Power Chart

Responsibilities

• Utilize telehealth platforms and virtual communication tools to conduct remote patient assessments and follow-ups.
• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status, including medical history review, vital signs monitoring, and symptom evaluation remotely.
• Utilize electronic systems and dashboards to track virtual care tasks, assignments, and completion status.
• Monitor incoming virtual care requests and prioritize patient needs based on acuity, urgency, and resource availability.
• Determine care priorities, provide reassurance, and create a healing environment based on patient needs.
• Anticipate patient problems and adapt by setting priorities and communicating changes in status.
• Engage in mutual problem solving with the interdisciplinary health care team and serve as a patient advocate.
