About The Position

The position is for a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care setting, focusing on virtual health visits. The role involves assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and follow-up for a shared or owned panel of patients. The Nurse Practitioner will manage multiple chronic illnesses, perform minimally invasive procedures, and work with a stable patient population. Responsibilities include recommending screenings and tests based on patient demographics, managing healthcare within protocols agreed upon by the physician and APP team members, and identifying abnormal findings early to initiate appropriate interventions. The position also requires participation in committees and research as appropriate. The work schedule consists of 4 ten-hour days with 1 hour of administrative time daily, approximately 1 in 12 weekend rotation, and on-call duties, with no holidays required.

Requirements

  • Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
  • Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of South Carolina.
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in SC.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
  • Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and concentrate.
  • Nurse Practitioner Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required (AGPCNP, FNP, PNP-PC, or ANP certification according to population served).

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and follow-up for a shared or owned panel of patients.

  • Manage healthcare within protocols mutually agreed upon by physician and APP team members.
  • Identify abnormal findings early and initiate appropriate intervention.
  • Participate on committees and in research as appropriate.
  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and follow-up for patients on a by-visit basis, including virtual visits.
  • Manage acute illnesses or chronic medication administration.
