About The Position

Extra Space Storage is seeking enthusiastic, creative, and ambitious self-starters to manage our beautiful self-storage facilities. We are hiring for multiple positions across various locations in the greater Central New Jersey area. The Assistant Store Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations, ensuring the facility meets high cleanliness standards and consistently delivers operational excellence. This role involves building customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, presenting a structured sales process, and managing customer accounts.

Requirements

• 1+ year of customer-facing work experience.
• Sales experience preferred.
• Current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle.
• High School diploma or GED is required; college education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Ensure our highest standards of cleanliness are met through continuous maintenance of the site.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Protect our strong company culture by establishing and maintaining professional relationships with all Extra Space employees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
