About The Position

Virtual Environment Lead Key Role: Provides technical leadership for virtualized environments in support of an Army command and its mission partners to ensure secure, reliable, and optimized virtualized solutions in support of operations. Plans, modernizes and sustains virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and virtual server environments. Maintains and supports coalition network integration with VDI thin client end users. Manages VDI systems to support increased usage during operations and implements solutions to prevent downtime. Oversees access control management of VDI systems.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in VDI administration and management, including virtual systems such as Citrix Virtual Apps, virtual desktops, cross domain and access solutions, or VDI
  • Experience in a VDI platform including VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Experience in networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SSL/TLS, storage solutions, including SAN and NAS, and security policies for VDI environments
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash, for VDI management
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies, including hypervisors like VMware ESXi or Hyper-V
  • Ability to monitor VDI performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize the environment for a smooth user experience
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • VMware Certified Professional - Desktop and Mobility, Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization, Nutanix Certified Professional, or Microsoft Certified - Windows Server Hybrid Administrator certification
  • DoD 8140.03 certification

  • Possession of strong written and verbal presentation skills
