You will serve as a technical lead for VDIaaS, partnering across Product, Engineering, and Operations to define standards, guide architectural decisions, and ensure consistent design and delivery across private and public cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop virtualization, cloud services, and service ownership, with a focus on delivering secure, resilient, and scalable virtual desktop environments that meet business needs. You will define and maintain reference architectures, establish best practices, and drive operational excellence across VDIaaS services. This role requires close collaboration with cross functional teams to operationalize new services, enhance existing offerings, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Requirements

  • VDI Platforms: Strong hands on expertise in one or more VDI technologies such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop, with working knowledge of the othersCloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid cloud architectures for VDI deployments.
  • Networking: Strong knowledge of networking concepts relevant to VDI, including VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS.
  • Security: Strong knowledge of security principles, compliance frameworks, and zero-trust architectures for virtual desktops.
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for VDI orchestration.
  • Monitoring & Performance: Ability to set and document monitoring standards and optimize VDI performance across distributed environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years’ experience in VDI or cloud services. Equivalent combinations (e.g., Master’s + 4 years or 10 years without a degree) considered.
  • Strong expertise in virtual desktop architecture and cloud-based VDI solutions.
  • Familiarity with managed services and service ownership principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional – Desktop and Mobility, Citrix Certified Expert, Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop certifications) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement VDIaaS solutions leveraging technologies such as Horizon DaaS, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Define and maintain virtual desktop service architecture, including connectivity models for private, hybrid, and public cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with Product and Operations teams to operationalize new virtual desktop services and features.
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, including design specifications and implementation standards.
  • Ensure security and compliance across all virtual desktop environments, aligning with industry best practices.
  • Document standards for measuring, monitoring and optimizing VDI performance, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability.
  • Serve as a technical leader and escalation point for complex vendor or architecture related VDI issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on VDIaaS solutions and best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend VDI technologies and services that enhance performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry trends in desktop virtualization, cloud computing, and managed services.
