Peraton is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Application Administrator to support our USSTRATCOM program in Bellevue, Nebraska. In this role, you will provide comprehensive information technology (IT) support to install, configure, and administer the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure on USSTRATCOM networks. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining and upgrading operating systems, firmware, and applications for both virtualized hosts and guest operating systems. You will ensure that the virtual environment adheres to the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) by implementing necessary policy and software updates. Your efforts will contribute to increased efficiency for customers and internal support staff, leading to a more stable and available environment. You will also monitor enterprise environments using automated tools to ensure optimal performance. As a VDI Administrator, you will troubleshoot issues on ESXi, perform VMware change control and patch management, and manage support requests with VMware as needed. Utilizing PowerShell for task automation will be a key part of your responsibilities, along with documenting successful issue resolutions, troubleshooting processes, and procedure implementations on a daily basis. You will maintain enterprise images to meet security and monthly patch requirements, package and provision software for virtual desktops, and configure Security Groups in Active Directory to link users to software applications. Compliance with relevant information security policies and processes during hardware and software installations is essential. Your role will require strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize multiple tasks effectively. You will need good analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot system problems, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with support personnel, customers, and managers. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial. Additionally, you may be required to travel for tasks such as hardware configuration, software installation, and security accreditation procedures on hardware components. You will also be responsible for the automated deployment of Microsoft Windows Operating System patches, monitoring and tuning systems for optimal performance, and maintaining current system documentation. Your interactions with client management will involve addressing questions, problems, and requests regarding deployments and issues, while also providing after-hours support for emergency scenarios. Overall, your work will ensure compliance with DoD Information Assurance standards and practices, and you will report on patching and security compliance of domain-connected assets.
