We are currently seeking a Virtual Design Technician our Raleigh, NC office. As a Virtual Design Technician, you will be responsible for producing models and documentation by using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. They will work closely with other Technicians/Coordinators, Designers, and Engineers on projects. This position will be expected to work within the project's monetary budget as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of technical plans and models desired
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering as-built drawings desired
  • Basic experience in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of colleagues and clients
  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • High level of professionalism
  • Associate degree or certificate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) preferred
  • No experience required
  • Revit skills desired

Responsibilities

  • Model, edit, rework, and update models and drawings as communicated by project designers through markups
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to develop models and drawings
  • Assist engineers and designers with field measurements of existing building systems and prepare models and drawings from field data
  • Export documents and transfer files to clients
  • Follow established standards for modeling and production of drawings and are of quality acceptable to the company
  • Coordinate models and workflow between members of the design team
