About The Position

The Virtual Construction Engineer is responsible for supporting the use of Virtual Construction across DAVIS projects including trade coordination, visualization studies, site logistics plans, 4d scheduling, direct layout from model, and 5d estimating. Essential Duties + Responsibilities Perform responsibilities with excellence in service, integrity and building relationships as exemplified in DAVIS core values Coordinate, manage and manipulate models created by others Assist with project plan during both preconstruction and construction phases Prepare virtual construction execution plans based on project requirements Generate models and produce Virtual Construction deliverables to support opportunities and projects Collaborate with other members of the Integrated Construction Group, such as scheduling, layout engineering, quality management, and safety, to further integrate Virtual Construction efforts into company practices and coordinate project initiatives Assists with laser scanning operation and processing Work closely with the IT department to ensure virtual construction initiatives are carried out Work with operations based Integrated Construction Engineers to promote a multifaceted Virtual Construction adoption strategy on projects including trade coordination, visualization studies, site logistics plans, 4d scheduling, direct layout from model, and 5d estimating Develop and foster relationships with external parties, including but not limited to clients, design team partners, subcontractors, vendors, industry organizations, universities, and colleagues Attend and participate in industry events to stay atop of BIM developments and promote DAVIS as an industry leader Coordinate with BIM providers and contractors Perform other duties as assigned DAVIS Common Attributes Safety – Consistently works within DAVIS safety standards; promotes safety as a priority with coworkers, subcontractors and external clients Team Collaboration – Works effectively within their own team and across the organization; promotes team atmosphere and culture; has a positive, can do attitude Commitment to Quality – Applies DAVIS standards to produce high quality work on a consistent basis; produces work that is accurate and reliable, actively demonstrates excellence in service; builds and maintains integrity as a core function of their job and in their relationships with others Champions DAVIS Business – Consistently markets DAVIS business within the scope of their job; actively seeks and / or supports new business opportunities; actively builds relationships and encourages others to do the same

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or construction related field or equivalent work experience
• One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in project engineering
• Experience using Building Information Model (BIM) systems
• Intermediate understanding of VC software (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, SketchUp and 4D Tools)
• Decision making, research and analytical problem solving skills
• Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands, and to work independently
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and interact effectively at all levels within the organization
• MS Office – Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook experience
• Intermediate ability to produce models using various applications
• Ability to understand architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil drawings, as well as related specifications

Responsibilities
